Minnesota Statewide Smoking Ban

It's official, the state of Minnesota has imposed a statewide smoking ban for all bars and restaurants on October 1, 2007. Although many in the organization are non-smokers, we at the Eagles are concerned on what difference this will make on the operation of our small club. What are your thoughts on this issue? Will we see a reduction of the number of patrons? How will this affect our ability to stay in business?

In the past decade, we have produced two membership surveys that gave us great insight into what our members want out of their membership of the Morris Eagles. Many members wished not to visit the club on the very matter of smoking. As you all may well know, our air handling equipment is antiquated, but with the ban, are we going to see the many people who said they would patronize the club if it weren't for the smell of smoke - will those people return?

Your thoughts?
